400 food aid packages from Perła for people looked after by Caritas
For the fourth year in a row, in the week leading up to Christmas, employees of the Perła Brewery visited the headquarters of Caritas of the Archdiocese of Lublin.
– “We brought 400 food aid packages of non-perishable items. They included basic items that every kitchen needs, such as rice, pasta, oil, porridge, tinned food and, as Christmas is approaching, some sweets. We handed them over to the Director of Caritas in Lublin, thinking of the people who are supported by this institution, i.e. those who are in a particularly difficult situation,” – said Maciej Ładwiński, Marketing Director of Perła – Browary Lubelskie S.A.
– “It is worth mentioning that since the beginning of Perła's cooperation with Caritas, several thousand inhabitants of Lublin and surrounding towns have received gifts prepared by us. Thanks to the employees and volunteers of Caritas, these gifts reach the most needy. We are glad that we can help these people in a concrete and tangible way, and that the Lublin Brewery can help Caritas to help others,” – emphasised Director Maciej Ładwiński.
– “The Caritas Christmas Eve Dinner is a unique event where we sit around the Christmas table with our guests – people who are lonely, homeless, or sick. We want to help those in need to overcome their feelings of loneliness and rejection. That is why we share the Christmas meal with them, share the wafer, sing carols, and rejoice in the birth of Jesus. It is also important to us that our guests do not go home empty-handed on Christmas Eve, so we prepare extra help in the form of food aid packages. We could not do this without the help of invaluable
donors. We are very grateful to our long-standing friends from Perła – Browary Lubelskie for their annual support of our organisation and thus of the needy at Christmas time. It is a gift from the heart, thanks to which our beneficiaries will be able to experience a substitute of the real Christmas. Once again, we thank you very much and we are happy that we can create this beautiful work together,” said Father Łukasz Mudrak, Director of Lublin Archdiocese branch of Caritas.
