Founder of the Brewery

Entrepreneur Karol Vetter buys out the destroyed buildings of the Reformats monastery at Bernardyńska 15 and settles permanently in Lublin.

Bavarian beer production

Bavarian beer production

Vetter announces the opening of the brewery. Bavarian beer is produced here and its production is based on the then new fermentation technology.

The demand for beer from the Vetter brewery is constantly growing, and the plant is undergoing modernisation and is still expanding. The effect of the changes is the installation of a steam engine, which significantly increases the volume of production.

Worthy successors

Karol Rudolf Vetter - the founder of the brewery and the creator of the family fortune passes away. He leaves his life’s work in the hands of his sons - August Karol and Juliusz Rudolf. They continue its business with full commitment and invest in the further development of the company.

In the footsteps of my father

August Vetter dies. His brother - the owner of a brewery, distillery and malt house - cares not only for his father's fortune, but also follows in his footsteps, conducts extensive charity work.

New Lublin Brewery

New Lublin Brewery

At the then Bychawska Street (today’s Kunickiego Street), a new Lublin brewery is being built, the founder of which is HerszJojna Zylber.
The plant adopts the name "Browar Parowy Jeleń". The brewery quickly gains recognition in the region due to the use of the highest quality raw material in the beer production process.

The interwar period

The interwar period

The brewery is severely affected by both wars. First, production is stopped, then, during World War II, the plant is taken over by the occupier, and the Zylber family ends up in a ghetto. Only Zylber’s son survives, who after liberation takes the name Stefan Jankowski and runs a brewery for some time.

1948-93
Post-war times

Post-war times

Both breweries - Vetters' and Browar Parowy Jeleń - are nationalized. They are part of the Lubelskie Zakłady Piwowarsko-Słodownicze. The company changes its name again. This time to Zakłady Piwowarskie in Lublin.

Dynamic development of the company

As a result of the dynamic development of the company, all production is moved to a modern plant at Kunickiego Street.

The Old Brewery at Bernardyńska Street is adapted to an office building, where the headquarters of the company's management board is located.
The company changes its name to the one that is still in use today - Perła - Browary Lubelskie S.A.
