Two gold statuettes went to Perła – Browary Lubelskie S.A. during a consumer beer competition in Krasnystaw.

The 52nd edition of the All-Poland Festival of Hops and Brewing “Chmielaki Krasnostawskie” is behind us. Chmielaki is one of the most eagerly awaited events in our region, attracting a large number of lovers of the golden beverage to Krasnystaw every year. It is also the oldest and best-known industry event in Poland, where visitors have the opportunity to see a cross-section of the domestic beer market. An important part of Chmielaki for all brewers is the Consumer Beer Competition, during which the jury evaluates the beers submitted by breweries and selects the best entries in each category.

As every year, one of the biggest stands in Krasnystaw belonged to Perła – Browary Lubelskie. The guests could taste most of the beers brewed in the company’s breweries in Lublin and Zwierzyniec, including this year’s novelties – Perła White Wheat and Perła American Citrus Hops.

No fewer than 403 beers in 20 categories from 41 breweries took part in this year’s consumer beer competition. The brewery from Lublin was the most successful. Perła Chmielowa beat 27 competitors to win first place and the gold medal in the highly competitive European Lager category with an extract of 11-12.9 BLG. The competition judges
were also delighted with the alcohol-free Perła, which took first place in the category of alcohol-free pilsner/lager beers up to 0.5% abv. “This is the second year in a row that our two products have won their categories in the consumer beer competition at Krasnostawskie Chmielaki. What’s more, both Perła Chmielowa and Perła Bezalkoholowa repeated their success from the previous year, confirming the consistently high quality of our beers” – emphasised Andrzej Rutkowski, General Director of Perła – Browary Lubelskie S.A. “I can’t tell
you how many medals we have won in the long history of the Perła brand’s presence at the Chmielaki, but I can assure you that each one is better than the previous one. It confirms the high level of craftsmanship of our Lublin brewers and the fact that Perła is appreciated by experts and liked by consumers,”
– Director Andrzej Rutkowski added.

Perła Chmielowa is not only the best-known product of the Lublin Brewery, it is also the longest available beer in the company’s range. In 2024, this version of the popular Perła will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Non-alcoholic Perła, much younger than this product, was created on the wave of interest in beers with low and zero alcohol content. Thanks to the dealcoholisation process used in its production, it was possible to create a non-alcoholic
beer of the highest quality, which retains all the qualities of a classic beer.
